PSO Event Sign Up

The Athens Academy Parent Service Organization (PSO) is a dedicated group of parent volunteers who work with the school's administration to enhance the quality of programs and academic life offered at Athens Academy.

All Academy families are part of the PSO and are encouraged to become involved by participating in various PSO activities. In addition to volunteering for these committees, there are opportunities to sponsor events. Please scroll down to sign up.

GRANDPARENTS & SPECIAL FRIENDS DAY - November 5, 2021

Each fall, students entertain grandparents and special friends. A morning program features musical entertainment. Following the performance all guests are invited to visit in the classrooms. This event brings many special visitors to the Athens Academy campus. Volunteers are needed to bring food , assist in setting up and greet and direct guests.

SquareOne Art Project- November 2021

The SquareOne Art Project makes use iof our Pre School and Lower School children's artwork to create notecards, magnets, and other items available for purchase as keepsakes. These unique items make fabulous gifts for grandparents and friends.

HOLIDAY MARKET - November 18, 2021

The Market offers unique handmade fine arts and crafts from local artists (including pottery/ceramics, photography, jewelry, and much more.) All artists donate a percentage of their sales to help support Athens Academy. Volunteers are needed to set up , assist vendors in unloading their cars, direct customers, and just show our Spartan Spirit.

HOLIDAY DECORATING - November 30, 2021

Parents are always eager to help with this festive event. The campus is decorated with greenery, wreaths, and Christmas trees. Volunteers are needed to help put up and take down the decorations.

SPARTAN 5K & SPARTAN SPRINT - February 12, 2022

The Spartan 5K race is well known by Spartans and runners from all over Georgia. Volunteers are needed to help with registration, food, and t-shirt distribution. Day of assistance includes set up, water station refills, and clean up.

FESTIVAL DAY - TBD

Family fun is the focus of this event . The campus takes on a carnival atmosphere with games of every type. Volunteers are needed to work shifts from 12:00pm- 3:00pm,Arts and Crafts assistance is always welcome!

ACAD Cares

As part of the ACAD Cares program, the PSO provides meals to Athens Academy families in distress including those experiencing a death in the family, major surgery or prolonged illness, traumatic relocation, and more.

PS/LS LIBRARY HELPERS - yearlong

Volunteers work during the school day. Preschool and Lower School volunteers are coordinated in the division. Sign up will be offered to parents during their child's library time.

Uniform Resale - Ongoing

Host multiple sales of gently used uniforms throughout the year. Parents are encouraged to drop of their students' outgrown uniforms in the bins located in the Sinkwich Spartan Center, the chambers Center, and the Lower and Middle School division offices. Volunteers wash, sort, and then sell the uniforms during the sale times.

POST PLANNING LUNCHEON - June 2022

The Post Planning Luncheon is held on the last day of Post-Planning Week for all faculty and staff. A casual, catered meal is served. Employee service recognition and presentation of PSO donations to the school are part of this event. Volunteers are needed to help decorate, set up and clean up the day of the luncheon.

FACULTY/STAFF APPRECIATION DAYS - September 28, 2021 and February 22, 2022

Faculty/Staff Appreciation Days are some of the most anticipated days of the year for teachers and staff members! The PSO plans and coordinates special meals in each division and across campus.
